at the Catholic Chaplaincy Centre (CCC), Bath
Prayer around The Cross in the style of Taizé led by Catholic students, with music and reflection on the Scripture. The beautiful chants of Taizé, which is an ecumenical gathering place in France for young people from all over the world, and candle light create an atmosphere of peaceful closeness to God! After the prayer, which lasts about 30 minutes, there will be free refreshments before Prof. Paul Williams of the Theology and Religious Studies Dept at Bristol University chats, very informally about his own conversion story rather than an academic study of the subject, for about an hour: 'Buddhism from a Catholic Perspective / The Unexpected Way: On converting from Buddhism to Catholicism', followed by questions.’
All are welcome.

Bath Spa University Chaplains’ Charity Soup Lunch continues on Thursdays with great help from Sue & Gail. Raising money for Water Aid. We pray for Stan – one of the BSU Staff who helped us each week with the soup lunch, who was killed tragically this week in a car crash. R.I.P.
THE STATIONS OF THE CROSS
On Fridays during Lent we hold THE STATIONS OF THE CROSS IN ECUMENICAL CHAPLAINCY CENTRE at 1.15pm. People can meet in the Prayer Corner with whoever can manage to come.. The Stations of the Cross last FOR 15-20 MINS – ALL WELCOME. This CAN BE a lay-led prayer and can happen whether Fr.Bill is present or not. Even if you can’t come every week drop in sometimes. Numbers present do not matter. It is a very simple witness to OUR FAITH AND CAN BE VERY APOSTOLIC. The devotion is Franciscan in origin and the 14 participants present each Station picture in the circle in the Chaplaincy Room and lead the prayer for that Station. Alternatively sit in the Prayer Corner and use station cards there.
BATH CATHOLIC YOUTH: ‘Fun, Films & Faith Nights’ on Sundays [after the 6.30-pm Holy Mass @ St.John’s] in the Catholic Chaplaincy Centre in Bath @ 7.30pm Films of Catholic interest and for a little relaxation & conversation at the weekend. These are already off to a good start and more to come. If you have thoughts about what to show next, have a word with our film buff, Mark Price or members of Cathsoc Committee.
This Sunday 25th Feb: was to have been ‘Romero’ but this has been lost - INSTEAD IT WILL BE ……..
During The Holy Season of Lent in preparation for Eastermake time to review your life and perhaps make some fresh starts by:-
· On Fridays of Lent doing penance by abstinence and other efforts and giving Lenten Alms for distribution by the Bishop or to some favourite charity as a result of our sacrifices and penances.
· Adoration of Blessed Sacrament held every Friday at Sts.Peter & Paul during Lent 10am-12pm or possibly on Campus when planned or by visiting one of the Catholic churches in Bath.
· Daily morning prayer at 8.30am in the meeting room @ the Ecumenical Chaplaincy Centre using a simplified version of the Divine Office of the Church.
· A good Lenten discipline would be when we are in church, to deepen our respect for the Blessed Sacrament (reserved outside the times of Holy Mass) in the Tabernacle in our churches!
Lucy & Lyndall of Bath Spa Cathsoc thank you for support for two events on the two campuses of BSU this last week: Joint BSU & Bath CathSocs ‘Quiz Night’ + ‘St.David’s Night Social’ at SION HILL CAMPUS of BSU & Newton Park which were good fun and a good start to efforts there. More to come, we hope!

All walkers and levels of fitness welcome & they have reduced rates for children & students. http://www.northerncross.co.uk
Both are a very special way for students and young people to celebrate Holy Week and Easter.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Perhaps we should have a collective Birthday Cake some Sunday to mark all the 21sts that have slipped past and have been missed, not forgetting the other birthdays! Happy birthday to Fr.Bill on 3rd March, who received a card showing people standing on the side of a hill. The caption reads “Can you see yourself on the hillside? To which the answer is “No” and the rejoinder “That’s ‘cos you’re the one over the hill!” A little cruel, but funny!
Used Stamps for the Missions Please save or send any used stamp for:- St Patrick’s Missionary Society (Kiltegan Fathers), 20 Beauchamp Road, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 0PA and ensure that you tear off a good corner of envelope around the stamp.
