THE STATIONS OF THE CROSS
The Rosary For Peace goes on hold on Fridays during Lent & INSTEAD we hold THE STATIONS OF THE CROSS IN ECUMENICAL CHAPLAINCY CENTRE at same time of 1.15pm. People can meet in the Prayer Corner with whoever can manage to come. Like The Rosary - explanatory cards on the prayer table. The Stations of the Cross last FOR 15-20 MINS – ALL WELCOME. This CAN BE a lay-led prayer and can happen whether Fr.Bill is present or not. Even if you can’t come every week drop in sometimes. Numbers present do not matter. It is a very simple witness to OUR FAITH AND CAN BE VERY APOSTOLIC. The devotion is Franciscan in origin and if 14 participants are present each one can hold a Station picture in the circle in the Chaplaincy Room and lead the prayer for that Station. Otherwise the station picture is simply changed and displayed for all to see in the Prayer Corner
Beginning of The Holy Season of Lent in preparation for Easter: The ashes many of us received on Ash Wednesday come from the burning of last year’s blessed palms from Palm Sunday and remind us how quickly glory and praise due to God can be forgotten. Lent is a time to review our lives and perhaps make some fresh starts:-
· On Fridays of Lent doing penance by abstinence and other efforts and giving Lenten Alms for distribution by the Bishop or to some favourite charity as a result of our sacrifices and penances.
· Helping with the Soup Run Preparations on 2nd March @ Ss.Peter & Paul sacristy, Combe Down or in distribution a@ Walcot St around 7.00pm.
· Adoration of Blessed Sacrament held every Friday at Sts.Peter & Paul during Lent 10am-12pm or possibly on Campus or by visiting one of the Catholic churches in Bath.
· Sharing in the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) after Holy Mass or by agreement with Fr.Bill,OSM
· Daily morning prayer at 8.30am in the meeting room @ the Ecumenical Chaplaincy Centre using a simplified version of the Divine Office of the Church.

This Sunday : Sunday 25th Feb: ‘Romero’ is the true story of the Catholic Archbishop Oscar Romero, who lived in El Salvador during the political unrest in the 1980s. The government has launched a 'terror campaign' against the guerillas in an attempt to crush them. Archbishop Romero's protests against the government’s actions is perceived as disloyalty. As an example to others, the government begins to destroy churches and murder priests. Despite persecution, Romero continues to speak out against the atrocities the government is committing against the people of El Salvador, until his untimely death.

Sacrament of Confirmation
Preparation for future celebrations of the Sacrament of Confirmation about to start. Please let Fr. Bill, OSM know if you have not yet been confirmed and wish to be helped to prepare. Those already confirmed might like to take part in discussion groups and reflecting on Faith groups including the Cathsoc regular meeting and at the same time help others in RCIA meeting in Father Bill’s parish? If you don’t know what RCIA is, find out from Fr.Bill.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
to those whose birthdays keep popping up or just pass un-noticed. Perhaps we should have a collective Birthday Cake some Sunday to mark all the 21sts that have slipped past and have been missed, not forgetting the other birthdays, including Mark Price’s on Saturday!
Used Stamps for the Missions Please save or send any used stamp for:- St Patrick’s Missionary Society (Kiltegan Fathers), 20 Beauchamp Road, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 0PA and ensure that you tear off a good corner of envelope around the stamp. Do not cut close to the stamp or it means they lose value. The money raised can help spread the Faith.
Don’t forget the good values that guide your life and be a friend to all you can. During Lent, think of helping others & always take the good advice to keep happy and safe by being with other good people and helping all you can! Let your light shine forth!
